As there is an increased awareness of the need for an emphasis on social and emotional issues for students, KPS has decided to partner with the be nice initiative. be nice is a mental health program that educates students, staff, and parents with the tools to recognize mental health illness. This initiative assists students by teaching them to understand how their words and actions can affect the way someone thinks, acts, and feels. This is the district’s second year of implementation of be nice and significant progress has been made in expanding activities at the elementary and secondary levels! Stay tuned for more details as to what is happening at each of the buildings.
