The state finals of MiHSEF took place last Saturday, where our Blue and Orange teams gave it their all!
The Orange team, made up of Anthony Hyunh, Malcolm McLaughlin, and Jermaine Prebble, reached the second round before being eliminated. Huge congratulations to them for their impressive performance!
On the other hand, our Blue team, consisting of Kenny Nguyen, Kevin Nguyen, and Alberto Estrada, faced Grand Rapids Christian in the third round. Although they initially lost and moved to the loser bracket, they showed incredible determination. They fought back, defeating every opponent and securing a spot in the final against Grand Rapids Christian again!
Despite needing to beat Grand Rapids Christian twice due to an earlier loss, our team never gave up. They dedicated time to practice and studied their opponents closely. The final two matches were intense, requiring immense mental strength, resilience, and focus.
In a remarkable display of skill and perseverance, they emerged victorious by defeating Grand Rapids Christian twice, earning the title of champions for the second time this school year! Congratulations to all three of them on this well-deserved achievement!
