SHOES Program from In the Image
Introducing the SHOES Program (Shoes Help Our Elementary Students):
- The SHOES program aims to provide a healthy start to the school year by equipping elementary students (K-5th grade) with brand-new athletic shoes.
- In The Image understands the financial strain that families often face during back-to-school preparations. SHOES helps alleviate part of this burden by ensuring that every child in Kent County has access to quality footwear.
- With comfortable athletic shoes, students can concentrate better in class, run faster on the playground, jump higher during gym class, and play harder in sports activities.
- This program is in its 28th year in Kent County and growing! We're hoping to serve over 4,000 Kent County Students who will be entering Kindergarten - 5th grade in the fall of 2024.
Event Details:
- Dates: July 30 to August 3. 2024
- Location: DeVos Place
- Benefits: Students (Kindergarten-5th Grade) will receive a free pair of brand-new athletic shoes.
- Additional Resources: Families can also take advantage of free eye screenings and connect with other local resources.
- Families can sign up for an appointment through our website (appointments will be available in late June).

Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 is the first night of Secondary (6th-12th grade) Parent Teacher Conferences! Conferences will be held at Kelloggsville Middle School, Kelloggsville High School, & 54th Street Academy from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.! They will also be held on Wednesday, September 25th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.!
Dear Community,
At approximately 11:45 a.m., the administration received a phone call from Kelloggsville’s school resource officer saying that Wyoming PD was looking for a suspect near 32nd St. and Clyde Park Ave. Out of precaution, we placed all of our schools into a passive lockout. We limited movement in the building during this time and held in-door recess. This was strictly out of precaution, and at no time were any students in danger,
It was determined that around 2:15 p.m., it was safe to come out of the passive lockout, and we could dismiss the students as usual. Again, this was initiated out of an abundance of precaution to keep our students and staff safe as outside threats were being looked into. At no time was any student in immediate danger during this process, and Kelloggsville will continue to take all safety issues seriously and work with local authorities to do so.
At Kelloggsville Public Schools, the safety of our students and staff is our unwavering priority. We are committed to providing you with the most accurate information as quickly as possible in the event of a safety concern. We appreciate your ongoing support as we continue to work together to maintain a safe environment for our school community. Remember, we encourage your students to speak up if they see or hear anything they believe is unsafe.
