Hand, Foot, & Mouth Disease

What is it?

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a common illness of infants and children. It is characterized by fever, sores in the mouth, and a rash with blisters.

Can I send my student to school?

Children should be kept home for the first few days of the illness. Please continue to keep your student home if they have open blisters or weeping sores on their hands.
