Winter Weather Guidelines

Dear Kelloggsville Schools families,

With the return of winter weather, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind parents to make sure students are dressed warmly for the winter weather. It’s important to remember that when children are not properly dressed and in cold weather for prolonged periods of time that health and safety-related issues could become a concern.  

Winter Weather and School Closures

Wind chill is one of many factors when making the decision to close schools. Other factors for closure are travel conditions due to snow, and ice, and when sustained temperatures of -20 windchill are forecasted and actually occur.

School Closing Notifications

Kelloggsville Public Schools will announce school closings as soon as possible. This will be sent out multiple ways.

  • Emails & Callouts: Kelloggsville uses School Messenger to notify families with students in our district of school closures with an email and callout as soon as possible. Please make sure your information is up-to-date in PowerSchool to make sure you are receiving these communications.
  • News Stations: WOTV (ABC 4) and WZZM (ABC 13) will broadcast our closing information.
  • District Website & Social Media: We will also place any closure information on our district website kvilleps.org, Facebook @kvrockets, and Instagram @kvrockets
